It's worse

Okay, so my day yesterday was crazy. I spent all the time the kids were at preschool online looking at puppies. Darrell and I laughed about it and both agreed that the last thing we really need is a puppy. So we shrugged it off and kissed and went our seperate ways. Me, I went to pick up the kids from school and get Arlington's prescription; Darrell, he went upstairs to get ready for work and headed out the door. But when I got home, I checked my messages and saw there was one. It was from Darrell I noticed on the callerID and tried to call. Nothing...straight to voice mail. So I listened to the message...

"Hey hon, I've been in a car accident. On my way to Princeton. Please call me."

Crap, shit, FUCK! I can't get a hold of him. So I call 911.

"What's your emergency?"

"Well, it's not mine, my husband got in a car accident on his way to work."

"Okay, where is he?"

"I don't really know, he's on his way to work, but on the phone he said he was on his way to Princeton. So I think he hasn't turned toward Bureau yet."

"Where was he going?"

"To work in Spring Valley."

"Where does he work?"

"The Wal-Mart DC. I don't know what he's doing near Princeton. He always takes 29 and follows it through Bureau and DePue." I start crying.

"It's okay. Please take a deep breath. I will see what I can find out okay hun? I'll call you back."

So she calls back to inform me that he's already on his way to Perry Memorial hospital in Princeton and that his Mustang is most likely totalled and I will need to pick him up from the hospital. I say that I have 3 kids and don't even know if he's okay or if it'll take all night. I start crying again as I talk about I might need to find a babysitter. She tells me to take a deep breath and to calm down again. (As if I have control over this. I'm calm bitch, I'm just scared for my husband and my family) But she calls again to get more info. He is going to get X-rays, but doesn't need stitches or anything. He is in amazingly good shape considering. It should be fine to take the kids and get him.

So we did. And he was. It was only about 15 mins we were at the hospital and the kids got the big Tootsie Pops so it was a great time for them. Darrell was pretty sore, but I was relieved to see no signs of an accident. His car, his precious Mustang, is another story. Darrell is now pre-shopping for a new one so when the insurance calls, he will be prepared.

But, talking last night after he got back, he says he's always kind of wanted another dog. And he'd feel better if there was one around when he was gone. So here it is. The one we want. The savior.

Oh my gosh, I don't think you could fit any more news into one post!!

I'm so happy to hear Darrell is oaky. Wow, I got tears in my eyes just reading that. That had to have been terrifying. I'm sorry to hear about the car, but again, just so happy to hear he is alright.

And the puppy!! Oh my gosh, how adorable. Collin's sister has an American Eskimo - wonderful dogs! I can't wait to hear more. Although puppies are alot of work, they add so much energy and love to a family. Keep us posted!

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about Darrell's accident, but am SO glad to hear he is doing ok. So sorry about his car, though... :(

As for the puppy...I love him already! I love beagles, and my friend Rachel has an Eski, who is a wonderful dog. You will have to keep us posted on what happens...how exciting!

Tell Darrell to take it easy and that Drew and I hope he is feeling better soon.

Oh Aubrey - gosh! What terrible news about Darrell. I was so relieved to hear he is doing okay. Ugh, I can only imagine what you went through after hearing the message... then, after not being able to get a hold of him.
I hope he continues to heal from the accident.
What a cute puppy!! I thought the picture of the first puppy was cute, but not as cute as Denver!! How adorable! The kids will love him!! :)
